I was involved as an animation director in this project.
This music video was created to mark the anniversary of MABATAKI – web design production, a team I’ve had the pleasure of working with often.

For this piece, I worked on the animations that appear during the chorus, blending them into the live-action footage.

At the very start of the project, I interviewed them and also spent time wandering the streets around their studio in Shibuya, hoping to let their unique philosophy blend into the city that means so much to them.

The girl who appears throughout the film has featured in past anniversary projects too – she’s become something of a symbolic figure, embodying their ideas and spirit.
I created the girl with the fluid, transformative qualities of water and wind in mind– images that came to me as shared symbols of femininity and the information society.

度々制作を一緒にしているクリエイティブカンパニーMABATAKIの設立周年記念として作ったミュージックビデオです。
実写映像の途中に出現するアニメーションパートを担当しました。

企画の初めの段階で彼らへの取材と共に、スタジオのある渋谷周辺を練り歩き、彼ら独自の哲学を、思い入れのある渋谷という街に溶け込ませられたらという思いがありました。

映像全体通して登場する女性は彼らの思想を反映したシンボルキャラクターとなる存在とお聞きしました。変化の多い情報社会の中心地に佇むMABATAKIのナチュラルで優しい丸さを思い、メタファーとして浮かんだ変容自在な水と風のマテリアルを参考に描いています。
